Antique Guns and Gun Collecting

This book has been specifically written to help the inexperienced, and starts with the basic problem of how, where and what to collect.
The main part of the book has
• a full description of the different types of gun – matchlocks, wheellocks, flintlocks, pocket pistols, blunderbusses, duelling pistols, revolvers and many others
• how they are recognised
• various styles of decoration
• whether they are sought after and therefore expensive
It includes a short chapter on the history of firearms and how to research the collection, including how to strip a gun.
Well illustrated with colour plates and black and white illustrations.
