I have been selling heaps of stuff on the platform. In the next few months I want to auction off some firearms. I read the terms and conditions, and note that African Arms facilitates the transaction. Can somebody give me a short list of the steps in the process from buyer purchase to license approval and courrier?
I don’t want to sukkel for months or years.

Does anyone know the ammo capacity of the 375 H&H Mag Rifle BRNO ZKK 602? It’s on auction now.

Any suggestion for Bullets for load development for .243 Winchester? Would be used mostly for hunting Springbuck to 300m range. I do not like bullets that explode upon impact and mak a lot of meet damage.

walter van zyl
• Choose bonded soft-points / Partition / monolithic (copper) — controlled expansion, high weight retention. • 90–100 gr is the sweet spot for .243 — best balance of penetration and BC. • Prefer spitzer, boat-tail profiles for better long-range performance. • Avoid varmint/fragmenting bullets (V-Max, etc.) — they shred meat. • Zero & test the exact ammo in your rifle; prioritize shot placement.

85 grain Siera Gameking HP BT in front of 43 grain S365 is what ive been using for the 20 years. Good performance and excelent accuray. A bad shot with any bullet will cause meat damage.

Good evening, I want to ask your opinion on EDC. Currently I have a 357 magnum, it is not very practical for EDC.. I’m looking at the Glock 19 gen 3 or CZ PO7. I’m not keen on sport shooting so the gun will mainly be used for self defence. I like the simplicity of the the Glock but everyone I speak to recommend the P07. I have shot with both of them.
Your advice will be appreciated.

Zeeshaan Majid
CZ P07 is discontinued (replaced it with the P09 Nocturne C). So if you are planning on getting a P07, I suggest you act quick and find the last batch on the market. I'd have liked to get myself a P07 if I could
August 27, 2025 12:54 pm
BoomstickBandit
Also have a look at the Canik MC9, the CZ P10S, the Smith & Wesson M&P9 2.0. I believe a EDC SD weapon should be nice and small so that it is easy to conceal and don't bother you when you carry it. I carry my Glock 26 each and every day.

Hi, normaly i believe that there are several things to take into account. Do you prefer hammer or striker? Take into account the mag release,it is not a big issue but you dont want to be in a life or death situation and have issues with changing your mag. Then do yourself a favour and go watch some reviews on youtube aswell as some to see how these firearms handles punishments ie. Dust, mud and sand.

250 3000 savage ackley lever action. What bullets can I load from casings to finish. Used for basic small game hunting. Alternatively where can I buy ammo for this rifle

Gunter
This is the advice Deepseek gives: This is a fantastic and somewhat rare combination—a classic lever gun chambered in a very efficient wildcat cartridge. Reloading for it requires some specific knowledge, but it's very doable. First, a crucial point of clarification: The .250-3000 Savage Ackley Improved is a wildcat cartridge. This means there is no factory ammunition available. Every round you shoot must be handloaded, starting from fired brass. The process involves "fire-forming" your brass to the improved shape. Here’s a breakdown of the process and the components you'll need, focusing on your goal of small game hunting. The Two-Step Reloading Process You can't just load a finished round right away. You must first create the brass. 1. Fire-Forming the Brass: This is the process of firing a standard .250-3000 Savage cartridge in your Ackley Improved chamber. The pressure forces the brass to expand and conform to your rifle's specific, less-tapered chamber with a sharper shoulder angle (usually 40 degrees). This is your "once-fired" brass that is now formed to your chamber. 2. Loading the Finished Cartridge: Once you have fire-formed brass, you can reload it normally. The Ackley Improved design allows for a slight increase in powder capacity (5-7%) and higher velocity, but more importantly, it greatly reduces case stretching and extends brass life. --- Step 1: Fire-Forming Loads Your goal here is not peak performance, but to safely and consistently form your brass. A common and effective method is to use a fast-burning pistol powder and a filler like cream of wheat or grits. · Brass: New or once-fired standard .250-3000 Savage brass. (PPU, Hornady, and sometimes Nosler make this). · Bullet: A cheap, light bullet is perfect. The 60-grain Nosler Varmegeddon or a similar 60-75gr varmint bullet is ideal. You could even use a cast lead bullet. · Powder: 10 to 13 grains of a fast powder like Accurate No. 5, No. 7, or Red Dot. · Filler: A small tuft of dacron pillow batting or about 1.5cc of Cream of Wheat on top of the powder to hold it against the primer. · Primer: Standard Large Rifle primer (e.g., CCI 200, Federal 210). WARNING: The filler method is well-established but must be done precisely. Do not compress the filler. The charge is very light. Always consult multiple reloading manuals for sub-load data. --- Step 2: Finished Loads for Small Game Now for your fire-formed brass. For small game (squirrels, rabbits, grouse), you want a bullet that will not destroy the meat. This means lightweight, thin-jacketed, or frangible varmint bullets. Excellent Bullet Choices (60-87 grains): · Hornady V-MAX (60gr, 75gr): Excellent for explosive expansion on small game. Minimizes meat damage and has a very flat trajectory. · Sierra BlitzKing (60gr, 70gr): Similar to the V-MAX, designed for rapid fragmentation. · Nosler Varmegeddon (55gr, 60gr): Another top-tier varmint bullet designed to disintegrate on impact. · Speer TNT Hollow Point (70gr, 87gr): A classic, affordable varmint bullet. · Barnes Varmint Grenade (62gr): Made to fragment into tiny pieces, perfect for minimizing pelt damage on rabbits. Powder Choices: You'll be using rifle powders. Good options include: · H4895: Extremely versatile and has reduced load data from Hodgdon, making it great for lighter recoil loads. · IMR 4064: A classic .250 Savage powder. · Varget: Another very versatile and temperature-stable option. · H4350 / IMR 4350: Better for heavier bullets (100gr+), but can be used for full-power 87gr loads. Primer: Standard Large Rifle Primer (CCI 200, Federal 210, Winchester WLR). --- CRITICAL SAFETY INFORMATION FOR LEVER ACTIONS This is the most important part of your question. Your rifle is a lever action. 1. Bullet Profile (Shape): Lever actions have a tubular magazine. You cannot use pointed-tip (spitzer) bullets like the V-MAX or BlitzKing in the magazine tube. The recoil can cause the pointed tip of one bullet to set off the primer of the round in front of it, causing a catastrophic chain reaction in your magazine. 2. The Solution: · Single Load: Load one round at a time directly into the chamber. This is the safest method and allows you to use any bullet you want. · Use Flat-Nose Bullets: If you want to use the magazine, you must use bullets with a flat or rounded nose (meplat) that are safe for tubular magazines. · Hornady FTX bullets are designed for this, but they are typically for larger calibers (.30-30, .45-70). You might find a .25cal 86gr FTX meant for the .25-35 Winchester, but it may not be optimal for the .250 AI's higher pressure. · Speer Hot-Cor (87gr) has a rounder nose profile that is generally considered safer than a sharp spitzer. · Cast Lead Bullets: Many cast bullet designs have a large, flat meplat that is perfectly safe for tube magazines and excellent for low-velocity, low-recoil small game hunting. Recommended Load Path for Small Game: 1. For minimal meat damage: Single load a 60gr V-MAX over a moderate load of H4895. This will be very fast, flat-shooting, and the bullet will vaporize on a squirrel. 2. For using the magazine: Load a 87gr Speer Hot-Cor or a hard-cast lead flat-nose bullet (e.g., from Missouri Bullet Co.) over a reduced load of H4895 or a similar powder. This will be effective and much safer in the tube. Final Advice: · Start Low: Always start with the minimum listed powder charge and work up, watching for pressure signs. · Get a Manual: The Lyman reloading manual is excellent as it contains data for a wide variety of cartridges, including the .250 Savage, which you can use as a starting point for your Ackley Improved (starting 2-3% below max .250 Savage data is a common approach for fire-forming). · Consult a Smith: If you are new to reloading, especially for a wildcat, consider having a knowledgeable gunsmith or experienced reloader guide you through the fire-forming process.

Gun Barrels: How Do They Work??

Pieter Goosen
A gun barrel is a metal tube through which hot, rapidly expanding propellant gases convert stored chemical energy to kinetic energy by accelerating a bullet, shot swarm or other mass to a velocity. While this may seem simple, modern gun barrels are the result of over 600 years of continuous technological development. Although little more than a tube with one end closed, a gun barrel represents a complex blend of chemistry, physics, metallurgy, engineering and ballistics. In rifles and handguns, the barrel is the single most important factor in determining accuracy. In shotguns, the barrel controls the tightness and quality of the pattern. Gun barrels also influence the physical characteristics of firearms such as overall length, weight and recoil, as well as handling qualities such as balance, swing and pointing. All gun barrels have a cylindrical hole running completely through them, known as the bore, in which the bullet or shot swarm travels as it is accelerated. In rifles and handguns, the bore has spiral lands and grooves, which are called "rifling." As the bullet travels down the bore, the lands grip the bullet by engraving its outer surface, causing it to spin on its axis so it will stabilize in flight...much like the "spiral" of a football's travel. Rifling may either be left-hand twist or right-hand twist, with the latter being most common. Most shotguns have smooth bores with a constriction about 2 inches from the muzzle, which is known as the "choke." At the rear end of the barrel is an enlarged area for the cartridge, called the "chamber." The tapered portion at the front of the chamber is called the leade or throat in a rifle, and the forcing cone in a shotgun. Finally, the front end of the barrel is called the muzzle, and the chambered end of the bore is called the crown.
